Features Guide

Every major system in CDL Career Mode v2.5 — Manager mode, MyPlayer mode, the Multiverse, and the rest.

MyPlayer Mode

Play as a single pro from Challengers to the CDL

Manager mode runs a team — MyPlayer runs you. Build a CDL career from scratch: pick an archetype, grind through the Challengers League hoping to get scouted, sign your first contract, manage sponsors, handle media, and try not to burn out.

Archetype System

Five archetypes — Slayer, IGL, Anchor, Flex, Clutch — combined with three roles. Your pick drives starting stats, dialogue options, and how the team uses you in matches.

Scout Heat

A visibility meter tracking which CDL orgs are watching. Strong Challengers performances raise heat; bad games or bad tweets drop it. Hit the threshold and orgs send tryout invites.

Sponsor Deals

Gear, energy drinks, content networks. Each deal carries a monthly stipend plus a content quota (tweets, streams, appearances). Miss the quota and they terminate.

Tweet System

In-game social media. Build hype, fire back at rivals, do PR damage control. Tweets affect popularity, sponsor offers, and team chemistry — clap back at your own org at your own risk.

Burnout

Overtraining or stacking a packed week causes temporary stat debuffs. Push past the redline and the debuff sticks permanently. Manage rest like your career depends on it — because it does.

Decision Arcs

Interactive halftime modals and weekly events with real consequences. Hand the team a strat call, accept or decline a roster swap, handle a leaked DM. The choices stack.

MyPlayer mode is free for everyone, like the rest of the game. No subscription, no paywall.

Multiverse

Play across different Call of Duty eras

The Multiverse feature allows you to experience CDL Career Mode across three distinct eras of Call of Duty esports. Each universe features authentic rosters, teams, and players from that specific time period.

CDL 2026 (current)

The current CDL season — all 12 franchises, up-to-date rosters, 4v4 with the modern game modes (Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Overload).

Black Ops 3 (2016)

Travel back to the golden era of competitive CoD. Manage legendary teams and players from the CWL 2016 season with authentic rosters and team dynamics.

Modern Warfare (2019)

Experience the inaugural CDL season. Manage one of the original 12 franchises with the rosters that started it all.

How to Access

When starting a new career, you'll be presented with a universe selection screen. Choose your preferred era and the game will load the appropriate teams, players, and data for that time period. Your career will be saved with the universe information, so you can have multiple careers across different eras.

Practice Scrims

Test strategies and prepare your team

Scrims (scrimmages) are practice matches that allow you to test your strategies against other teams without affecting your official record. Use them wisely to prepare for upcoming matches and experiment with different approaches.

Key Features

  • Book scrims against any team in the league
  • Limited to 4 scrims per qualifier stage
  • Unlimited scrims during off-season
  • Track your scrim record vs each opponent
  • View detailed match statistics and scoreboard
  • Strategies used are recorded in history

Strategic Tips

  • Test new strategies before important matches
  • Scrim against teams you'll face in qualifiers
  • Use off-season for unlimited practice
  • Review past scrim strategies that worked
  • Identify weak map/mode combinations

Free Agent Tryouts

Test free agents before committing to a signing! The tryout system allows you to simulate scrims with free agents temporarily filling roster spots.

  • Roster Fill-Ins: If your team has fewer than 4 active players, select free agents to fill in for the scrim
  • Player Swaps: Enable "Tryout Mode" to temporarily swap roster players with free agents to test different lineups
  • No Commitment: Tryout scrims don't affect your roster - evaluate performance risk-free before signing

How to Access

Navigate to your Office and select the "Scrims" tab from the navigation bar. From there, you can select an opponent, view your current strategies, and start a practice match. Your scrim history is limited to the 10 most recent matches.

Live Match Simulation

Break Week

Strategic activities between stages

Break weeks occur between tournament stages, giving you the opportunity to invest in your team through various activities. Choose wisely how to spend your break week to maximize your team's growth and performance.

Drills

Run intensive practice drills to sharpen your team's skills. Improves player performance and map execution.

Fan Events

Host meet-and-greets and fan events to build your brand. Increases team popularity and fan engagement.

Talent Development

Focus on developing young talent and improving player potential. Great for building your team's future.

Sponsor Activities

Fulfill sponsor obligations and strengthen partnerships. Helps maintain and improve sponsorship deals.

Off-Season vs Break Week

Break weeks are for team activities and development. The off-season (between seasons) is when you can book unlimited scrims, sign free agents, negotiate contracts, and prepare your roster for the upcoming season.

Injury System

Manage player health and availability

Players can now sustain injuries during matches, adding another layer of roster management to your career. Injuries vary in severity and recovery time, requiring you to maintain roster depth and make strategic decisions.

Injury Types & Recovery

Minor Injuries

1-2 weeks recovery. Player may play through but with reduced performance.

Moderate Injuries

2-4 weeks recovery. Player should rest to avoid worsening the injury.

Severe Injuries

4+ weeks recovery. Player must be benched until fully healed.

Managing Injuries

  • • Maintain a deep roster with quality bench players
  • • Use break weeks for accelerated recovery
  • • Rest players during less important matches when possible
  • • Monitor injury-prone players more closely

Contract Extensions

Secure your roster for the future

Don't wait until your star players hit free agency. With contract extensions, you can negotiate new deals with existing roster members before their contracts expire, securing your team's core for seasons to come.

Benefits of Extending

  • Lock in players before they test free agency
  • Loyalty bonuses for long-term commitments
  • Maintain team chemistry continuity
  • Strategic roster planning for future seasons

Extension Factors

  • Player's current performance and potential
  • Time remaining on current contract
  • Team's recent success and reputation
  • Player's happiness and team chemistry

Trade System

Build your dream roster through trades

The enhanced trade system allows you to acquire players from other teams through negotiation. Propose trades, include cash considerations, and receive offers from other managers looking to shake up their rosters.

Making Trade Offers

  • 1.Select a player you want from another team
  • 2.Choose players from your roster to offer
  • 3.Add cash to sweeten the deal if needed
  • 4.Submit the offer and await a response

Trade Evaluation

  • Teams evaluate player value and team needs
  • Contract situations affect trade value
  • Teams may counter-offer with different terms
  • Some players may be untouchable

Incoming Trade Requests

Other teams may also approach you with trade offers for your players. Review these offers carefully in your inbox - sometimes teams will overpay for players they desperately need.

Sponsorship Deals

Grow your team's brand and income

Attract sponsors based on your team's performance and reputation. Different sponsor tiers offer varying payouts, and building long-term relationships with sponsors can significantly boost your team's budget.

Tier 1 Sponsors

Entry-level sponsors for new or rebuilding teams. Modest payouts but easier to acquire.

Tier 2 Sponsors

Mid-tier sponsors for competitive teams. Better payouts with some performance expectations.

Tier 3 Sponsors

Premium sponsors for top-performing teams. Highest payouts but demanding performance targets.

Maximizing Sponsorships

  • • Win matches and tournaments to attract better sponsors
  • • Maintain consistent performance to keep sponsors happy
  • • Build your team's brand through success
  • • Sponsorship income directly affects your team budget
